Who should be using PIG® pipe repair products?
PIG® Pipe Wrap is a "must have" stock item for smart building owners, facility maintenance managers, janitorial personnel, and production supervisors that have the responsibility to keep factories, malls, grocery stores, apartment buildings, offices, restaurants, hotels, schools, hospitals, universities, military and marine facilities and a host of other public and private institutions up and running. Pipe repair with PIG® Pipe Wrap kits is so easy that in most cases, one person can apply it, usually without shutting off the flow. PIG® Pipe Repair and Pipe Wrap Kits in most cases return broken, corroded or leaking pipes to their original pressure rating by means of a polyurethane-impregnated fiberglass pipe wrap that withstands pressure exceeding that of the bursting pressure ratings of pipes. Simply apply and let cure for 30 minutes at 70° Fahrenheit and you're finished!

Application Procedure
To repair PVC pipe and other types of pipe using PIG® Pipe Wrap, simply follow the instructions included with your pipe repair kit. Basically, the steps entail:
Depressurize the pipe to be repaired if applicable. Roughen the surface around leak or damaged area by means of a file or coarse sandpaper and wipe clean.
For non-pressurized pipes, apply PIG® Plastic Repair Putty or PIG® Copper Repair Putty by kneading for two minutes, then applying to the leak. For pressurized pipe repair, use PIG® Pipe Wrap for Pipes Under Pressure.
Immerse PIG® Polyurethane-impregnated fiberglass tape in warm water to activate, then tightly wrap the leak or damaged area.
Finish your pipe repair job by massaging the fiberglass tape till smooth and the resins harden. Allow completed repair to cure.
New Pig Pipe Wrap-it's not just for PVC pipe repair and copper pipe repair!
Facility maintenance managers, production supervisors, civil structure engineers, and a host of other responsible titles likely have many types of pipe in their facility and a number of choices when it comes to pipe repair. Few if any of those choices are as quick, economical and adaptable as applying PIG® Pipe Wrap.
Epoxy injection pipe repair, for example, is a system normally used to stabilize and re-bond existing pipe structures with holes and circular fractures. Although normally reserved for underground piping, epoxy injection pipe repair is both painstaking and costly. Even then, the technology does not provide a full structural repair. In most cases where epoxy injection pipe repair is considered, PIG® Pipe Wrap will provide a lasting and permanent pipe repair.
Concrete pipe repair can be just as daunting. Since the concrete on the outside of a pipe often shrinks faster than the concrete on the inside, surface cracks can cause differential shrinkage resulting in the crack running longitudinally down the pipe. The traditional way of accurately determining this in concrete pipe repair is to use a hand-held chipping hammer that can help sound out the extent of defects and look for voids in the concrete. Once that is accomplished and any dust or residual pieces are removed, molds are usually made and mortars chosen for the final repair. In some concrete pipe repair cases, PIG® Pipe Protection Wrap can be substituted. Make sure to check with a qualified engineer before proceeding.
Similar situations apply to storm pipe outlet repair, where there are strict municipal regulations, and Teflon lined pipe repair, where expensive repair clamps must often first be fitted before the repair can begin.
